What ever happened to anthrax?

Do you remember that outbreak back in 2001? People were walking walking on eggshells and were terrified when it came time to check their packages/mail with fear that anthrax would be somewhere hidden inside. Hype by definition is to stimulate or excite and hype is exactly what drove the anthrax scare. In 2001 nearly 44,000 people died in car accidents while roughly 21,000 died from the common flu. Interestingly enough, more people died from getting struck by lightning (90 to be exact)then they did by anthrax (five people). The reality is, the media does its job very well by covering stories repeatedly and blowing things out of proportion. It's already hard enough to live life and keep your sanity, so be careful and keep a close eye on the media because YOU are their target and YOU living in fear is exactly what they want!
